The City of Parañaque has a diverse educational system with specializations in various academic and technical fields and is home to many schools and colleges.

The conventional exceptions ( with considerable variations ) are proper names, which usually retain " ñ " and their original Spanish or Hispanicised spelling ( e. g. Santo Niño, Parañaque, Mañalac ).

It is composed of 16 cities, namely Manila, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Pasay, Pasig, Parañaque, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela, and the Municipality of Pateros.

Parañaque is famous for its lively festivals, such as the caracol, a festival that revolves around boats.

Parañaque is also known for the sunduan, a festival held every November during the Araw ng Parañaque ( Parañaque Day ) celebration.

Parañaque is also known for sabong, a form of cockfighting constrained in coliseums.

Parañaque is composed of two congressional districts and two legislative districts which are further subdivided into 16 Barangays.

SM City Sucat is the first SM Supermall in Parañaque and the second Supermall in the southern region of Metro Manila.

It is also the Diocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora del Buen Suceso and the seat of the Diocese of Parañaque, Quirino Avenue, La Huerta

Parañaque is served by the LRT-1 ( via Baclaran Station, which is located in Pasay City ) and the PNR ( via Bicutan station ).

Parañaque is also the location of one of Ninoy Aquino International Airport's terminal.

Parañaque is accessed by these following major roads:

Located along the border between Pasay and Parañaque, about seven kilometers south of Manila proper, and southwest of Makati, NAIA is the main international gateway for travelers to the Philippines and is the hub for all Philippine airlines.

The Marikina Auto Line Transport Corporation ( MALTC ) buses is the only one that regularly travels to farther places like Makati and Parañaque.

The boulevard is an eight-lane major arterial road designated as Radial Road 1 that connects the center of Manila with Pasay City and Parañaque City.

Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard is a modern eight-lane road parallel to Roxas Boulevard running from CCP Complex, Pasay City to Marina Subdivision, Parañaque City, both in Metro Manila.

The rallies were then moved to various locations such as a football stadium and then to Manila's Quirino Grandstand at Rizal Park ; then to a field grounds outside the Philippine International Convention Center and the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Pasay City, which is near Manila Bay ; and finally in Amvel Business Park, San Dionisio, Parañaque in order to address the size of the crowds attending.

Their Diocesan Bishop is the Reverend Jessie Mercado of the Diocese of Parañaque, and its Spiritual Director is Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani of the Roman Catholic Church.

The parts of Tondo were Navotas, Tambobon ( presently called Malabon ), and Caloocan ; the parts of Nueva Ecija were Mariquina, Balintauag ( Balintawak ), Caloocan, Pasig, San Felipe Neri ( presently called Mandaluyong ), Las Piñas, what had been known as Parañaque, and Muntinlupa.

The municipalities of Caloocan, Mariquina, Pasig, Parañaque, Malabon, Navotas, San Juan del Monte, Makati ( San Pedro de Macati ), Mandaluyong ( San Felipe Neri ), Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Taguig-Pateros were incorporated into a new province named Rizal, the capital of which was Pasig.

Nichols Field was a U. S. military airfield located south of Manila in Pasay City and Parañaque City, Metro Manila, Luzon, the Philippines.

It lies the western side of Roxas Boulevard and south of SM Corporate District ( SM Mall of Asia ), part of Parañaque.
