On 7 May 1788, he married the widow Mary Pitt ( née Baldwin ) at St Laurence's Church, Upton in Slough.

From 1882 Pitt Rivers served as Britain's first Inspector of Ancient Monuments: a post created by anthropologist and parliamentarian John Lubbock who was married to Pitt Rivers ' daughter, Alice.

His sister Hester Grenville married the leading political figure William Pitt.

Canning married Joan Scott ( later 1st Viscountess Canning ) ( 1776 – 1837 ) on 8 July 1800, with John Hookham Frere and William Pitt the Younger as witnesses.

In 1998, Brad Pitt met Friends actress Jennifer Aniston, and married her in a private wedding ceremony in Malibu on July 29, 2000.

Speculation that Pitt had been romantically involved with Jolie while still married to Jennifer Aniston was daily gossip and thought to be the reason for Pitt and Aniston's divorce.

The " Old Lady of Threadneedle St " ( the Bank personified ) is ravished by William Pitt the Younger.

Accordingly he obtained a pension of £ 3000 a year and his wife, Lady Hester Grenville was created Baroness Chatham in her own right-although Pitt refused to accept a title himself.
