The Commission heard evidence from Sir Matthew Nathan, Augustine Birrell, Lord Wimborne, Sir Neville Chamberlain ( Inspector-General of the Royal Irish Constabulary ), General Lovick Friend, Major Ivor Price of Military Intelligence and others.

Among the most influential of these was the Academy of St Martin in the Fields under the baton of Sir Neville Marriner.

Margaret Thatcher's party forced her from power after the introduction of the poll tax ; Sir Anthony Eden fell from power following the Suez Crisis ; and Neville Chamberlain resigned in 1940 after the Allies were forced to retreat from Norway, as he believed a government supported by all parties was essential, and the Labour and Liberal parties would not join a government headed by him.

He was granted a state funeral on 14 September, which was attended by over 1, 000 mourners including Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser, Premier Neville Wran, Mervyn Wood, Justice Lionel Murphy and former NSW Labor Premier and former Governor-General Sir William McKell.

The dedicatee long remained unidentified, but John Harley's researches into the heraldic design on the fly-leaf have shown that she was Lady Elizabeth Neville, the third wife of Sir Henry Neville ( Gentleman of the Privy Chamber ) of Billingbear in Berkshire, who was a Justice of the Peace and a warden of Windsor Great Park.

Sir William's wife, Lady Elizabeth, was the daughter of Henry, 5th Lord FitzHugh and Lady Alice Neville.

It is thought that, in 1533, Catherine spent her time with the widow of her cousin Sir Walter Strickland, the Dowager Lady Strickland, Catherine Neville at the Strickland's family residence of Sizergh Castle in Westmorland ( now Cumbria ).

Neville was one of fifteen children born to Richard Neville, Lord Latimer and Anne Stafford, daughter of Sir Humphrey Stafford.

In November 1538, using evidence acquired from Sir Geoffrey Pole under interrogation in the Tower, he imprisoned the Marquess of Exeter, Sir Edward Neville, and Sir Nicholas Carew on charges of treason ; all were executed in the following months.

Salisbury's fourth son Sir Thomas Neville, and his son in law William, Lord Harington, also died in the battle.

She married her stepbrother, Sir Ralph Neville, son of Ralph Neville, 1st Earl of Westmoreland, c. 1413 in Oversley, Warwickshire and had issue

Sir John Frederick Neville Cardus CBE ( 3 April 1888 – 28 February 1975 ) was an English writer and critic, best known for his writing on music and cricket.

In 1955 a tribute described as a Festschrift, Fanfare for Ernest Newman was published to mark his golden jubilee as a critic, with contributions from Neville Cardus, Philip Hope-Wallace, Gerald Abraham, Winton Dean, Christopher Hassall and Sir Jack Westrup, among others.

Sturley wrote to Quiney that Sir Edward `` gave his allowance and liking thereof, and affied unto us his best endeavour, so that his rights be preserved '', and that `` Sir Edward saith we shall not be at any fault for money for prosecuting the cause, for himself will procure it and lay it down for us for the time ''.

Sir Henry Sumner Maine, a hundred years before Communism was a force to be reckoned with, wrote his brilliant legal generalization, that `` the progress of society is from status to contract ''.

After his arrival, Hasan Ali Shah wrote to Sir William Macnaghten, discussing his plans to seize and govern Herat on behalf of the British.

He wrote a number of books and papers two of which are of immense importance namely ( 1 ). India in Transition, about the prepartition politics of India and ( 2 ). World Enough & Time-The Memoirs of Sir Sultan Mohammed Shah, Aga Khan III, his autobiography.

Sir Stafford Cripps, George Bernard Shaw, Henry Irving and other stage grandees, Lord Lytton and other eminent people of the era also wrote positive appreciations of his work after taking lessons with Alexander.

Respected literary figures like Robert Burns and Sir Walter Scott in Scotland both collected and wrote their own ballads, using the form to create an artistic product.

The great historian of the Crusades, Sir Steven Runciman, wrote that the sack of Constantinople is “ unparalleled in history ”.

On 10 November Reynolds wrote to Benjamin West to resign the Presidency, but the General Assembly agreed that Reynolds should be re-elected, with Sir William Chambers and West to deputise for him.
