The West Lothian question refers to issues concerning the ability of Members of Parliament from constituencies in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to vote on matters that affect only people living in England.

He represented West Lothian from 1962 to 1983, then Linlithgow from 1983 to 2005.
