Saint Bernardino of Siena, O. F. M., ( sometimes Bernardine ) ( Massa Marittima 8 September 1380 – Aquila, Italy 20 May 1444 ) was an Italian priest, Franciscan missionary, and is a Catholic saint.

Saint Bernardino is the Roman Catholic patron saint of advertising, communications, compulsive gambling, respiratory problems, as well as any problems involving the chest area.

Helping to publicize belief in and the threat of the Witches ' Sabbath was the extensive preaching of the popular Franciscan reformer, Saint Bernardino of Siena ( 1380 – 1444 ), whose widely circulating sermons contain various references to the sabbath as it was then conceived and hence represent valuable early sources into the history of this phenomenon.

The city was founded on March 19, 1852, by João Bernardino de Seixas Ribeiro, after Luis Antônio da Silveira donated part of his lands to the Catholic Church, in tribute to Saint Joseph, aiming the creation of a city.

As a result of initiatives by Friar Giovanni da Capistrano and Friar Giacomo della Marca, Lombard masters undertook, in the relatively underdeveloped north-east of the city, an imposing series of buildings centring on the hospital of Saint Salvatore ( 1446 ) and the convent and the basilica of Saint Bernardino.

Saint Agatha is often depicted iconographically carrying her excised breasts on a platter, as by Bernardino Luini's Saint Agatha ( 1510 – 15 ) in the Galleria Borghese, Rome, in which Agatha sweetly contemplates the breasts on a standing salver held in her hand.

The participation of the Knights of Saint Stephen ( under Jacopo Inghirami ) in this victory is commemorated by a series of frescoes painted by Bernardino Poccetti in the " Sala di Bona " of Palazzo Pitti, Florence.

Saint Bernardino of Siena popularized the use of the three letters on the background of a blazing sun to displace both popular pagan symbols and seals of political factions like the Guelphs and Ghibellines in public spaces ( see Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus ).

Rich helped form a Latter-day Saint settlement in San Bernardino, California.

The emphasis on the latter in the preaching of Saint Bernardino of Siena appears to be the origin of the de-coupling.
