At the Congress of Vienna in 1814 and 1815, the left-bank Palatinate — enlarged by other territories such as the former Bishopric of Speyer and the free imperial city of Speyer — was returned to the Wittelsbachs and became a formal part of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1816 in exchange for Tirol, which Bavaria ceded to Austria.

The REF departs Earth in a quest for the Robotech Masters ' homeworld of Tirol in 2022 ( in the rebooted timeline ).

The Regis leads the invasion of Earth while the Regent presses his assault against the remnants of the Masters ' empire on their own homeworld of Tirol, left virtually defenseless in the wake of the First Robotech War ( which saw the near-obliteration of the Zentraedi ) and the departure of the Robotech Masters ( to Earth, in search of the Protoculture Matrix ).

The Regent's rule is cruel and harsh, fueled by his fury over the adultery of the Regis with Zor and his anger at the defoliation of Optera at the hands of the Masters, whose homeworld of Tirol ( already abandoned by the Masters themselves, who are en route to Earth ) falls shortly before the arrival of the SDF-3.

In the first act of The Sentinels, covered in McKinney's novel The Devil's Hand and Eternity Comics ' 16-issue first volume of the Sentinels series, Edwards is promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and becomes part of the " Pioneer Expedition ", leaving Earth on diplomatic mission to Tirol, homeworld of the Robotech Masters, in hopes of preventing more war.

To achieve this end, he first seeks to take oust Rick Hunter, now an Admiral, from power, first attempting to ruin his wedding to Lisa Hayes, then undercutting his every command when the Robotech Expeditionary Force begins its attempt to liberate Tirol from the clutches of the evil alien Invid.

However, in regard to the dialects of the deeper valleys of the Tirol, other Tyroleans are often unable to understand them.

Sigismund of Austria, Duke, then Archduke of Further Austria ( 26 October 1427 – 4 March 1496 ) was a Habsburg archduke of Austria and ruler of Tirol from 1446 to 1490.

In 1446, upon the end of the regency of Frederick III, he acceded to rulership over Tirol and ( other ) Further Austria Vorderösterreich, which included the Sundgau in the Alsace, the Breisgau, and some possessions in Swabia.

Using new mining methods and technology, the largely quiescent silver mines in Tirol were brought back into production and soon numerous surrounding states were re-opening old mines and minting similar coins.

Both campaigns include 25 missions, the final mission ending the war with a final strike on the enemy's homeworld — either the Arm's bucolic Empyrrean or the Core's artificial Jupiter Brain world of Core Prime.
