A standardized form of the Basque language, called Euskara Batua, was developed by the Basque Language Academy in the late 1960s.

The Euskaltzaindia has been a vocal and active advocate of the introduction of a unified dialect of the Basque language, known as " Euskara Batua ", or Unified Basque.

It is estimated ( for example for small Antioquia, a region where hundreds of Spaniards arrived, of which a good portion were Basque, some limited aspects of the culture and traditions brought by Basque settlers, without even mention his particular language, it has been unclear to track the use of Euskara in the current Antioquia and Colombia, because the Basque language was always an outcast, which apparently left no written evidence in Antioquia.

The fledging Basque University ( created in 1936 ) was shut down, books written in Euskara ( Basque ) were burned, and the language was prohibited in schools, public places, newspapers, and on the radio.

The game was played during one of the cultural events that had a large impact in the Basque society, as it was a part of the campaign of Euskara " Bai Euskarari " organized by Sustraiak.

In Basque, the name of the language is officially Euskara ( alongside various dialect forms ).

Alternative ( opportunistic ) uses include Basque webpages ( as the initial letters of Euskadi or the language Euskara ) and Romanian, Portuguese, or Galician personal sites, as eu is the equivalent of the English pronoun ' I ' in those languages.

These provinces and many areas of Navarre are heavily populated by ethnic Basques, but the Euskara language had, at least until the 1990s, all but disappeared from most of Álava, western parts of Biscay and central and southern areas of Navarre.
