1UP. com users gave it an 8. 7 out of 10, and the GameSpot community gave the Mario-Duck Hunt package a 9. 1 out of 10.

Quake mobile was reviewed by GameSpot on the Samsung Nexus and they cite its US release as October 2005, they also gave it a Best Mobile Game " in their E3 2005 Editor's Choice Awards.

GameSpot reviewer Brad Shoemaker gave the game an 8. 5, but cited " muffled sound effects " in Final Fantasy IV, and was displeased with frequent loading in Chrono Trigger.

IGN gave it a 6. 4 and GameSpot gave it a 7. 5.

GameSpot gave the game a 7. 8 / 10, stating that it has much more replay value than the previous game, and that the mini-games are much less annoying.

GameSpot also gave the Game Boy Color port an 8. 0, saying of the original NES release: " Crystalis ' sheer depth-and the quality of its presentation-was without peer, and it is still regarded as a milestone title in the RPG genre.

GameSpot gave Quake 4 an 8. 0 and it also said: " The single-player is great fun, but the uninspired multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired.

" GameSpot gave it a worse rating than the PC version: 6. 6.

GameSpot reviewer Frank Provo gave the game an 8. 2 out of ten, stating " Sonic Advance 2 is easily the toughest 2D Sonic game ever made ", where as GameSpy reviewer Christian Nutt called Sonic Advance 2 " a solid adventure with some niggling flaws ", and gave the game a 3 out of 5.

" In the GameSpot review, Ron Dulin gave the game a 6. 0 score ( out of ten ) and stated that it was " an interesting mood piece, built upon some very detailed graphic work and an interesting premise — but somewhere along the production line, someone forgot to include a game.

Alex Navarro of GameSpot gave the game a score of 8. 3 and wrote " while ( the game ) may prove to be a bit too fleeting for anyone seeking a long-lasting gameplay experience and the additional gameplay modes are a bit too restrictive in the design for what they're supposed to be, the game is still great fun and is definitely worth playing through long after you've beaten it the first time " Justin Leeper of Game Informer, who gave the game an overall score of 9, wrote " It ’ s still no 30-hour marathon, but Atlus has added a whole lot to an already-excellent beat ‘ em up ".

GameSpot gave Titans an 8. 3 out of 10, and commented " There's plenty more depth to be found here since having a brand-new civilization with three new primary gods creates many more ... new strategies.

Bruce Geryk of GameSpot gave the game a rating of 8. 8 out 10.

Jeff Gerstmann from GameSpot gave it a 9. 1 and praised the game for its portability, being able to play it in " short bursts " and being able to return to it again and again.

It received poor reviews from publications such as GameSpot whose editor Jeff Gerstmann gave it a 3. 5 out of 10 due to how different the game is from the other ports and how unresponsive the controls are.

IGN gave the game a rating of 9. 2 / 10 while GameSpot described the PC version as " one of the best games of the year ".

GameSpot included Tresspasser as one of nominees for the title of the Most Disappointing Game of the Year (" losing " to Star Wars Rebellion ) and gave it the dubious award of the Worst Game of the Year ( PC ), commenting: " Of all the games released this year, none was as ill-received and terrible as Trespasser.

GameSpot gave it an 8. 8, calling it " a really great game, perhaps the best James Bond game ever made ".

GameSpot, which gave the game 9. 2 out of 10, praised the game's graphics and fluid character movement.

Among these positive responses are the reviews from GameSpot and IGN, which gave Tekken 5 a 9. 2 / 10 and 9. 3 / 10 respectively.

A GameSpot review by Jeff Gerstmann described the game as outstanding.

GameSpot agreed with positive reviews and praised every aspect of the game, stating " Quake is a masterpiece on every level, with its ominous atmosphere, silky-smooth animation, incredibly well-balanced gameplay and level design, and unparalleled soundtrack.

" GameSpot noted " Its relative lack of originality can ... undermine Red Factions appeal for more-experienced players, for whom the game will provide mostly familiar territory.

It has been ranked among the best games of all time by several organizations including Edge, IGN, The Age and GameSpot, while Guinness World Records has named it as the top console game ever.

Mean Machines describes the game as having " struck gold " in a way that no other – not even its sequels – has matched and GameSpot named the game as one of the greatest games of all time for its innovation, gameplay and visual style.

Skyler Miller of GameSpot argues that Atari Video Cube, also from the same year, " gets my vote as the first true puzzle video game ," involving gameplay similar to a Rubik's Cube in a 2-dimensional space.

GameSpot regarded the game as " perhaps the most highly anticipated fighter ever " and called it the best fighting game ever to be released for a handheld console.

GameSpot praised the graphical style for making the game " as much fun to watch as it is to play ".

The abrupt ending of the game received criticism from GameSpot, Just Adventure and Computer Gaming World ; the last of which called the ending " the game's only real disappointment ".

In a review of the Virtual Console game, GameSpot criticized the NES version for being a poor port of the arcade version.

GameSpot listed him at # 9 in their " Top 10 Video Game Villains " article, stating " Of all the villains to make an appearance on this list, Bowser ... has got to be the most interesting ," later adding " While some people say Bowser's life may have gotten into a rut, the man has simply refined his game down to an everyday thing.

" However, GameSpot thought that Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World would have been a better choice for a launch game considering their respective popularity ; both titles were eventually also remade as part of the Super Mario Advance series.

In 2005, GameSpot stated " Planescape: Torment has quite possibly the best implementation of role-playing an evil character ever to appear in a computer or video game to date ".

" In a review for the PC version's altered soundtrack, fellow GameSpot reviewer Andrew Park felt that the new music was fitting for the game.

The game received the perfect 10 / 10 scores from GameSpot and IGN, and being the second game ever to get a perfect 40 / 40 by Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu ( the first being The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ).

The game received very positive reviews, obtaining a 89 / 100 score according to Metacritic, including 8. 9 / 10 by IGN (" the best weapons-based fighter on PlayStation ") and 8. 3 / 10 by GameSpot (" a great fighting game with its share of flaws ").

GameSpot praised the game for its graphics, which accurately replicated the ships from The Next Generation.

GameSpot also noted the slight twists in resource and unit mechanics, but concluded that the game was more or less a standard RTS.

GameSpot called it one of the 15 most influential games of all time, and rated the Nintendo 64 version a score of 9. 4 and the Wii Virtual Console version an 8.

GameSpot granted the game a score of 9. 8 / 10 and stated, " As far as platformers go, Wario Land 3 is a game that fires on all cylinders.

GameSpot gave the music a score of nine out of ten.

This game was given 6. 7 fair score by GameSpot.

GameSpot praised the copy ability and the gameplay, but criticized the length of the game, saying " Can beat the game in a single evening ", with a total score of 7. 3 out of 10.

GameSpot users have given Herzog Zwei an average score of 8. 8 out of 10 as of 2009.

IGN gave the game a score of 9. 7 and GameSpot gave it a score of 8. 6.

" Nevertheless, GameSpot added that the game's weapon fire and musical score " easily drown this out.

The PS2 version earned a rare perfect 10 score from GameSpot, one of only seven games to ever receive said score, " Probably because of the freedom given in this game.

GameSpot praised it as " more than a shameless cash-in on the Pokemon phenomenon ", giving it a score of 8. 7 and citing its use of the Game Boy Color's display and presentation.

Both GameSpot and IGN gave it a score of 6. 2.

GameSpot gave a score of 6. 5 out of 10, saying that " by and large, game just isn't much fun.

Greg Kasavin of GameSpot gave the Xbox version a score of 9. 1 and said that the single-player and multiplayer portions of the game will appeal to anyone interested in high-tech stealth and subterfuge.

IGN awarded the game with a score of 8. 5 out of 10 and GameSpot a 7. 7 out of 10

" GameSpot, with a score of 8. 4, also commented on the visuals and sound effects as well as its focus on large-scale battles that " befits the source material ", however, mediocre AI and the simple gameplay relying on long battles of attrition were criticized.

IGN did however, believe it was easier than the previous game, Going Commando, while GameSpot thought that the gameplay was too similar to the previous title, but both reviewers considered these as minor issues and they made little difference to the overall score.
