* 1503 – King James IV of Scotland marries Margaret Tudor, daughter of King Henry VII of England at Holyrood Abbey in Edinburgh, Scotland.

They and the Auxies became known as Tudor's Toughs after the police commander, Major-General Sir Henry Hugh Tudor.

Her older half-sister, Mary, had lost her position as a legitimate heir when Henry annulled his marriage to Mary's mother, Catherine of Aragon, in order to marry Anne and sire a male heir to ensure the Tudor succession.

In December 1503, Julius issued a dispensation allowing Henry VIII to marry Katharine of Aragon who had previously been briefly married to Henry's brother Prince Arthur Tudor who had died some years before.

In August 1485 there was another rebellion against Richard, headed by Henry Tudor, 2nd Earl of Richmond ( later King Henry VII ) and his uncle Jasper.

Henry Tudor succeeded Richard to become Henry VII and sought to cement the succession by marrying the Yorkist heiress Elizabeth of York, Edward IV's daughter and Richard III's niece.

His death leads not to the crowning of Henry Tudor, but to the rule of the fictional Richard IV, who in the television series has grown up to be Edmund's father.
