Pashtunistan (, Pax ̌ tūnstān ) or Pakhtunistan, meaning the " land of Pashtuns " or " land of Pakhtuns ", is a term used to refer to the historical region inhabited by the indigenous Pashtun people of Afghanistan and Pakistan since at least the 1st millennium BC.
