Section 1 ( 4 ) applies in relation to proceedings before a relevant convention court under the European Patent Convention as it applies to a judicial proceeding in a tribunal of a foreign state.

Section 1 applies in relation to a person acting as an intermediary as it applies in relation to a person lawfully sworn as an interpreter in a judicial proceeding ; and for this purpose, where a person acts as an intermediary in any proceeding which is not a judicial proceeding for the purposes of section 1, that proceeding must be taken to be part of the judicial proceeding in which the witness ’ s evidence is given.

Nonetheless, in the event of situations not covered under the 1963 Act, the courts in India continue to exercise their inherent powers in terms of Section 151 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, which applies to all civil courts in India.

The Armorial Bearings Protection Act only applies to "... the Royal Arms or the Arms of any part of Her Majesty ’ s Dominions ..." ( Section 3 of the Act ).

Section 197 of the CrPC ( which applies not only to the CBI but also to the police ) makes prior government sanction mandatory for prosecution.

Section 1 ( 2 ) of the Criminal Attempts Act 1981 applies the Act even though the facts are such that the commission of the offence is impossible so long as, under section 1 ( 3 ), the defendant believes that he is about to break the law and intends to commit the relevant full offence.

This is because the power to legislate on de facto matters relies on referrals by States to the Commonwealth in accordance with Section 51 ( xxxvii ) of the Australian Constitution, where it states the new federal law can only be applied back within a state There must be a state nexis, between the de facto relationship itself and the Australian state.
