Extreme Unction was the usual name for the sacrament in the West from the late twelfth century until 1972, and was thus used at the Council of Trent and in the 1913 Catholic Encyclopedia.

That doctrine had been written about much earlier by Augustine of Hippo and was eventually defined a dogma by the Council of Trent.

The popularity and success of the Baroque style was encouraged by the Roman Catholic Church, which had decided at the time of the Council of Trent, in response to the Protestant Reformation, that the arts should communicate religious themes in direct and emotional involvement.

The Council of Trent, the summation of the Roman Catholic Counter-Reformation, declared the entire book, both Hebrew text and Greek additions, to be canonical.

As bishop he put into effect the reforming decrees of the Council of Trent.

At the Council of Trent, on 15 November 1551, the necessity for a second conversion after baptism was delineated:

Because clerics resisted it, the celibacy mandate was restated at the Second Lateran Council ( 1139 ) and the Council of Trent ( 1545 – 64 ).

The Council of Trent () was an Ecumenical Council of the Roman Catholic Church.

During the pontificate of Pope Paul III the Council fathers met for the first through eighth sessions in Trent ( 1545 – 7 ), and for the ninth through eleventh sessions in Bologna ( 1547 ).

Under Pope Julius III, the Council met in Trent ( 1551 – 52 ) for the twelfth through sixteenth sessions, and under Pope Pius IV, the seventeenth through twenty-fifth sessions took place in Trent ( 1559 – 63 ).

The Council of Trent, delayed and interrupted several times because of political or religious disagreements, was a major reform council and the most impressive embodiment of the ideals of the Counter-Reformation.

When announcing Vatican II, Pope John XXIII stated that the precepts of the Council of Trent continue to the modern day, a position that was reaffirmed by Pope Paul VI.

Pope Paul III convoked the Council of Trent

Faced with a Turkish attack, Charles held the support of the Protestant German rulers, all of whom delayed the opening of the Council of Trent.

Unable, however, to resist the urging of Charles V, the pope, after proposing Mantua as the place of meeting, convened the council at Trent ( at that time a free city of the Holy Roman Empire under a prince-bishop ), on December 13, 1545 ; the Pope's decision to transfer it to Bologna in March, 1547 on the pretext of avoiding a plague failed to take effect and the Council was indefinitely prorogued on 17 September 1549.

Much more than the Second Council of Nicaea ( 787 ) the Council fathers of Trent stressed the pedagogical purpose of Christian images.

The most comprehensive history is still Hubert Jedin's The History of the Council of Trent ( Geschichte des Konzils von Trient ) with about 2500 pages in four volumes: The History of the Council of Trent, The fight for a Council ( Vol I, 1951 ); The History of the Council of Trent The first Sessions in Trent ( 1545 – 1547 ) ( Vol II, 1957 ); The History of the Council of Trent Sessions in Bologna 1547 – 1548 and Trent 1551 – 1552 ( Vol III, 1970, 1998 ); The History of the Council of Trent Third Period and Conclusion ( Vol IV, 1976 ).

Between 1977 and 1987, the Australian Football Council ( AFC ) in conjunction with the VFL ran a night series, which invited clubs and representative sides from around the country to participate in the " National Football League " for the Wills Cup, however Victorian sides still dominated.

The courts of appeal in administrative cases however are specialized depending on the case, but most administrative appeals end up in the judicial section of the Council of State ( Raad van State ).

The Foreign Affairs Council ( national foreign ministers ) is however chaired by the Union's High Representative.

" Nestorius however, still would not repent and so this led to the convening of the First Ecumenical Council of Ephesus ( 431 ), over which Cyril presided.

This decree, however, is not considered valid by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, since it was never approved by Pope Gregory XII or his successors, and was passed by the Council in a session before his confirmation.

The Third Council of the Lateran of 1179 guaranteed the access – now largely free of charge – of all able applicants, who were, however, still tested for aptitude by the ecclesiastic scholastic.

It is however probable ( though no contemporary account of the Council's decisions has survived ) that no method of determining the date was specified by the Council.

In the fifth century, Pope Dioscorus, the Patriarch of Alexandria, rejected certain Christological dogmas promulgated by the Council of Chalcedon, and as a result, the Oriental Orthodox churches split from the rest ; however they continued the episcopal tradition, and today in fact there is dialog between the various orthodox churches over whether the schism was due to real differences or simply translation failures.

It can be said that there is no right or wrong way to dance it ; however, certain styles of the dance are considered correct " form " within the technical elements documented and governed by the National Dance Council of America.

" Al-Obeikan, however, was subsequently removed from his position as advisor to the royal cabinet in May 2012 after opposing moves to relax gender segregation, and in August of 2012, Obeikan ’ s morning radio show “ Fatwas on Air ,” in which he would issue daily fatwas, was canceled after a royal decree that authorizes only members of the Council of Senior Islamic Scholars to issue fatwas.

The Roman Catholic Church, however, recognizes the council of 869 as the Eighth Ecumenical Council and doesn't place the later council among Ecumenical Councils.

" This " reluctance " diminished as the general strike appeared to take effect, and the Workers ' Revolutionary Council voted by a narrow majority to seize power on 16 November ; however, the supreme revolutionary Executive Committee was unable to recruit enough members to carry out its plans for armed uprising, and had to call off the proposed revolution the same day.

This does not apply, however, to Members of the Council of State or the State Secretaries. No personal, or mixed, hereditary privileges may henceforth be granted to anyone.

It should be noted, however, that decisions of the Privy Council before 1 July 1997 on non-Hong Kong appeals, just as decisions of British courts in general, are not strictly binding on Hong Kong courts, for all that such decisions are persuasive and will be treated with great respect by courts of Hong Kong.

Before this transition, however, Lekhanya was ousted in 1991 by a mutiny of junior army officers that left Phisoane Ramaema as Chairman of the Military Council.

Decisions of the Security Council are binding on all members of the UN ; however, unanimous decisions are not required, unlike in the League Council.

The new student organisation originally lacked a true student representative union ; however, following a complete review and authorisation from the university Council, a new student union known as Macquarie University Students Association ( MUSRA ) was established in 2009.

In 1653, however, Cromwell became Lord Protector, and the Council was reduced to between thirteen and twenty-one members, all elected by the Commons.

The former, however, is preferred by the Privy Council Office, emphasising English usage of the term " Counsellor " as " one who gives counsel ", as opposed to " one who is a member of a council.

Labor did however agree to participate in the Advisory War Council.

Pope John XXIII, however, gave notice of his intention to convene the Council on 25 January 1959, less than three months after his election in October 1958.

In Italy the powers are completely separated, even if Council of Ministers need the vote of confidence from both chambers of Parliament, that's however formed by a wide number of members ( almost 1, 000 ).

In March 2005, however, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan proposed a sweeping reform of the United Nations, including an expansion of the Security Council.
