The Egyptian Rhind papyrus of 1800BC gives the area of a circle as ( 64 / 81 ) < sup > 2 </ sup >, where is the diameter of the circle, and pi approximated to 256 / 81, a number that appears in the older Moscow Mathematical Papyrus, and used for volume approximations ( i. e. hekat ( volume unit )).

The Egerton Gospel ( British Library Egerton Papyrus 2 ) refers to a group of papyrus fragments of a codex of a previously unknown gospel, found in Egypt and sold to the British Museum in 1934 ; the physical fragments are now dated to the very end of the 2nd century AD, although the date of composition is less clear – perhaps 50-100 AD.

Ronald Cameron states: " Since Papyrus Egerton 2 displays no dependence upon the gospels of the New Testament, its earliest possible date of composition would be sometime in the middle of the first century, when the sayings and stories which underlie the New Testament first began to be produced in written form.

The Rylands Library Papyrus P52, also known as the St. John's fragment, is a fragment from a papyrus codex, measuring only 3. 5 by 2. 5 inches ( 8. 9 by 6 cm ) at its widest ; and conserved with the Rylands Papyri at the John Rylands University Library ( Gr. P. 457 ), Manchester, UK.

His Year 1 and Year 2 is attested by Papyrus Turin 1932 + 1939 while his third Year is documented in a diary kept by a Workmen of Deir El Medina.

In Ancient Egyptian most fractions were written as the sum of two or more unit fractions ( a fraction with 1 as the numerator ), with scribes possessing tables of answers ( see Rhind Mathematical Papyrus 2 / n table ).

" While Enmarch himself rejects synchronizing the texts of the Ipuwer Papyrus and The Book of Exodus on grounds of historicity, in The reception of a Middle Egyptian poem: The Dialogue of Ipuwer .. he acknowledges that there are some textual parallels " particularly the striking statement that ‘ the river is blood and one drinks from it ’ ( Ipuwer 2. 10 ), and the frequent references to servants abandoning their subordinate status ( e. g. The early date for < sup > 52 </ sup > favoured by many New Testament scholars has been challenged by Andreas Schmidt, who favours a date around 170 AD, plus or minus twenty-five years ; on the basis of a comparison with Chester Beatty Papyrus X and with the redated Egerton Gospel.

The verses included in < sup > 52 </ sup > are also witnessed in Bodmer Papyrus < sup > 66 </ sup > – usually dated to the beginning of the 3rd century CE – there is also some overlap with < sup > 60 </ sup > and < sup > 90 </ sup > of the 7th and 2nd centuries respectively.

Papyrus 46 ( in the Gregory-Aland numbering ), designated by siglum < sup > 46 </ sup >, is one of the oldest extant New Testament manuscripts in Greek, written on papyrus, with its ' most probable date ' between 175-225.

Probably the earliest surviving New Testament manuscript, Rylands Library Papyrus P52 is a Greek papyrus fragment discovered in Egypt in 1920 ( now at the John Rylands Library, Manchester ).

Papyrus is made from the stem of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus.

The procedures were documented on papyrus and were the first to describe patient case files ; the Edwin Smith Papyrus ( held in the New York Academy of Medicine ) documents surgical procedures based on anatomy and physiology, while the Ebers Papyrus describes healing based on magic.

The earliest known writings on the circulatory system are found in the Ebers Papyrus ( 16th century BCE ), an ancient Egyptian medical papyrus containing over 700 prescriptions and remedies, both physical and spiritual.

The execution was recorded in an Aramaic papyrus document ( Papyrus Brooklyn 13 ).

The 110-page Ebers Papyrus, an Egyptian medical papyrus which dates to roughly 1550 BC, also makes reference to the tracheotomy.

In 1874 he edited the celebrated medical papyrus ( Papyrus Ebers ) which he had discovered in Thebes ( translation by H. Joachim, 1890 ).
