Henny recorded his first Dutch-language solo-album ( Geen Ballade ; released in March 1984 ) with a little help from his friends.

As with Geen Ballade the album received minimal promotion.

In 1979 BL struck a collaboration deal with Honda to share the development and production of a new mid-sized car ( Triumph Acclaim / Honda Ballade ).

The chassis was significantly changed in 1988 from its original torsion bar front and semi-independent rear, to fully independent wishbones all around in line with its sister Civic / Ballade models.

The Civic has been rebadged for international markets with such models as the Honda Ballade which became the British Leyland-produced Triumph Acclaim in Britain and Honda Domani / Acura EL.

A special model was the 180i with the B18B4, that was fitted to Ballade models.

This musical tradition was a popular naming approach used by Honda during the early 1980s, as demonstrated with the Honda Ballade, the Honda Quintet, then later followed by the Honda Concerto.

The Prelude was joined by another platform expansion of the Civic, the fastback called the Honda Ballade CR-X starting with the second generation, as well as the Honda Integra coupe and sedan, also descended from the Civic, and only available at Honda Verno locations initially.

Ballade bodyshells, and later complete cars, were made in the Longbridge plant plant alongside the Rover equivalent, with the Ballade models then going to Honda's new Swindon plant for quality-control checks.

After 1984, the Ballade shared most of its body panels with the Civic, except for a sportier front end, and formed the basis of the CR-X sports car and the original Rover 200.

Of this second generation Ballade the top model-EX-i-featured a 1. 5L naturally aspirated 12 valve all-aluminium engine with multi-point fuel injection ( using Honda's PGM-FI system ) developing, the same engine was used on the first generation Civic CRX.

In keeping with the styling trend shared with other Honda Verno products, the second generation car adopted partially concealled headlights starting in 1983, shared with the Vigor, Quint Integra, Ballade Sports CR-X, and the Prelude.

The Ballade in Japan was replaced in September 1987, with the Honda Concerto 5-door hatchback and sedan as the luxury Civic offering at newly established Honda Clio dealerships in Japan.

As the Ballade was essentially a luxury version of the Civic sedan, Honda repositioned the Ballade from Honda Verno, first with the Concerto name, then renamed again as the Honda Domani at Honda Clio, and introduced it with the Honda Accord, the Honda Inspire, and the Honda Legend in 1992, with the Civic now headlining at Honda Primo stores.

Several of these double entries have been collected by Ben Bagley and Michael McWhinney, along with Rodgers and Hart songs that disappeared permanently en route to New York and others that reached Broadway but have not become part of the constantly heard Rodgers and Hart repertory, in a delightfully refreshing album, Rodgers And Hart Revisited ( Spruce Records, 505 Fifth Avenue, New York ).
