Michael Solomon Gudinski, AM ( born 22 August 1952 ) is an Australian entrepreneur and businessman currently based in Melbourne who is a leading figure in the Australian music industry.

Gudinski has been a highly visible public figure throughout his career and he is probably the only Australian record company executive whose name is known by the general public.

Mushroom Records was an Australian record label formed by Michael Gudinski and Ray Evans in Melbourne in 1972.

The recording catalogue was sold to the Australian division of Warner Music for only A $ 10 million in October 2005, and the publishing division was sold to Michael Gudinski a month later, for an undisclosed sum.

Mostly known for forming the highly successful Australian record company Mushroom Records in 1972 through whom Gudinski signed several generations of Australian musicians and performers ranging from MacKenzie Theory, the Skyhooks, New Zealand's Split Enz, The Choirboys, Kylie Minogue to newer artists such as Eskimo Joe, Evermore and others forging a string of successful releases by local talent.

Mushroom Records UK was set up in London in 1993 by Gary Ashley, as an offshoot of the Australian independent label Mushroom Records, which had been formed in 1972 by Michael Gudinski and Ray Evans in Melbourne.

In 1981 Gudinski started White Label Records, an alternative Mushroom label, to release innovative music, with signings such as Hunters & Collectors, Machinations, Painters and Dockers, Kids in the Kitchen and The Stems.

In 1977 Gudinski opened the music venue Bombay Bicycle Club in Bourke Street, Melbourne, soon moving it to Sydney Road Brunswick and renaming it Bombay Rock.
