Two, from the Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa ( compiled in Babylon around 1700 BCE ) are reported to have been made during the reign of king Sargon of Akkad ( 2334 – 2279 BCE ).

The oldest surviving planetary astronomical text is the Babylonian Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa, a 7th century BC copy of a list of observations of the motions of the planet Venus, that probably dates as early as the second millennium BC.

* c. 1600 BC: The creation of one of the oldest surviving astronomical documents, a copy of which was found in the Babylonian library of Ashurbanipal: a 21-year record of the appearances of Venus ( which the early Babylonians called Nindaranna ): Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa.

The oldest significant astronomical text that we possess is Tablet 63 of ' Enūma Anu Enlil ', the Venus tablet of Ammi-saduqa, which lists the first and last visible risings of Venus over a period of about 21 years and is the earliest evidence that the phenomena of a planet were recognized as periodic.

* 2nd millennium BC – earliest possible date for the composition of the Babylonian Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa, a 7th century BC copy of a list of observations of the motions of the planet Venus, and the oldest planetary table currently known.

The Venus tablet of Ammisaduqa ( Enuma Anu Enlil Tablet 63 ) refers to the record of astronomical observations of Venus, as preserved in numerous cuneiform tablets dating from the first millennium BCE.

The tablet recorded the rise times of Venus and its first and last visibility on the horizon before or after sunrise and sunset ( the heliacal risings and settings of Venus ) in the form of lunar dates.

The tablet's significance for corroborating Babylonian chronology was first recognised by Franz Xaver Kugler in 1912, when he could identify the enigmatic " Year of the Golden Throne " (" Venus " tablet K. 160 ) with the 8th year of the reign of Ammisaduqa.

Galileo announced his discovery that Venus had phases like the Moon in the form " Haec immatura a me iam frustra leguntur-oy " ( Latin: These immature ones have already been read in vain by me-oy ), that is, when rearranged, " Cynthiae figuras aemulatur Mater Amorum " ( Latin: The Mother of Loves Venus imitates the figures of Cynthia the moon ).

A marriage of sorts is arranged between Dido and Aeneas at the instigation of Juno, who was told of the fact that her favorite city would eventually be defeated by the Trojans ' descendants, and Aeneas's mother Venus ( the Roman adaptation of Aphrodite ), who realizes that her son and his company need a temporary reprieve to reinforce themselves for the journey to come.

One example which could have been overlooked without historical records is the Mayan interest in the planet Venus.

Aveni claims that another building associated with the planet Venus in the form of Kukulcan, and the rainy season at Chichen Itza is the Caracol.

Eta Bootis, or Muphrid, is only 3. 3 light years distant from Arcturus, and would have a visual magnitude-2½, whereas an observer on the former system would find Arcturus as bright as Venus as seen from Earth.

A typical example is the so-called Venus of Willendorf, one of many Paleolithic Venus figurines with ample hips and bosom.
