Plaque under a sculpture near Ibirapuera Park

À CIDADE DE SÃO PAULO, HOMENAGEM DO CONSELHO DA COMUNIDADE PORTUGUESA, SENDO SEU PRESIDENTE, O COMENDADOR VALENTIM DOS SANTOS DINIZ. Translation: THE CITY OF SÃO PAULO, HOMAGE TO THE COUNCIL OF THE PORTUGUESE COMMUNITY, AND ITS PRESIDENT, THE COMENDADOR VALENTIM DOS SANTOS DINIZ. Not sure what it means. Perhaps someone could tell me.

Obelisk at Ibirapuera Park

Strange and visible from only a short distance, this monument is to ... the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932. Not to mock it, because it's certainly important to Brazil, but the monument is put to shame by the other buildings. The revolution was recorded by Wikipedia to have cost 3,250 Brazilian lives.
