I have the honor to refer to the Agricultural Commodities Agreement signed today between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of India ( hereinafter referred to as the Agreement ) and, with regard to the rupees accruing to uses indicated under Article 2, of the Agreement, to state that the understanding of the Government of the United States of America is as follows: 1.

Congress has also created some special judicial bodies known as Article I tribunals to handle some areas of administrative law.

Article 20 I GG is exceptionally significant for the basic organization of Germany.

( The latter prohibition took effect 1 January 1808, the earliest date on which Congress had the power to do so under Article I, Section 9 of the United States Constitution.

Many of the Articles in Section I are structured in two paragraphs: the first sets out a basic right or freedom ( such as Article 2 ( 1 ) – the right to life ) but the second contains various exclusions, exceptions or limitations on the basic right ( such as Article 2 ( 2 ) – which excepts certain uses of force leading to death ).

Under clause 17 Article I Section 8 of the Constitution however, Congress has power to " exercise exclusive Legislation in all cases whatsoever " over the federal district ( Washington, D. C .) and other territory ceded to the federal government by the states, such as for military installations.

:: Article I, Third, of the Convention concerning the Duties and Rights of States in the Event of Civil Strife.

* Under Article I, Section 3, Clause 7, upon conviction in impeachment cases, the Senate has the option of disqualifying convicted individuals from holding other federal offices, including the presidency.

" Article I, Section 3, Clause 6 gives the Senate the power to remove impeached officials from office, given a two-thirds vote to convict.

The capitation clause of Article I of the United States Constitution, reads " o capitation, or other direct, tax shall be laid, unless in proportion to the census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken.

Article I, section 2 of the Constitution states that the House " shall have the sole power of Impeachment ", and Article I, section 3 provides that the " Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.

Andrew Johnson appointed nine Article III federal judges during his presidency, all to United States district courts.

Later cases interpreted the " judicial power " of Article III to establish the power of federal courts to consider or overturn any action of Congress or of any state that conflicts with the Constitution.

Since the 12th century, courts have had parallel and co-equal authority to make law -- " legislating from the bench " is a traditional and essential function of courts, which was carried over into the U. S. system as an essential component of the " judicial power " specified by Article III of the U. S. constitution.

Under the " independent tribunal " requirement, the Court has ruled that military judges in Turkish state security courts are incompatible with Article 6.

In compliance with this Article, Turkey has now adopted a law abolishing these courts.

Article 6, Section 1 of the Protocol specifically covers Holocaust Denial, and other genocides recognised as such by international courts, established since 1945, by relevant international legal instruments.

Under this provision, the Congress may create inferior courts under both Article III, Section 1, and Article I, Section 8.

The Article III courts, which are also known as " constitutional courts ", were first created by the Judiciary Act of 1789.

Article III courts are the only ones with judicial power, and so decisions of regulatory agencies remain subject to review by Article III courts.

However, cases not requiring " judicial determination " may come before Article I courts.

In the case of Murray's Lessee v. Hoboken Land & Improvement Co., the Supreme Court ruled that cases involving " a suit at the common law, or in equity, or admiralty " inherently involve judicial determination and must come before Article III courts.

Other cases, such as bankruptcy cases, have been held not to involve judicial determination, and may therefore go before Article I courts.

Similarly, several courts in the District of Columbia, which is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Congress, are Article I courts rather than Article III courts.

What is required is the full implementation of Article 2 of the Treaty, which provides: `` The Parties will contribute toward the further development of peaceful and friendly international relations by strengthening their free institutions, by bringing about a better understanding of the principles upon which these institutions are founded, and by promoting conditions of stability and well-being.

By virtue of Article II of the Treaty of Union, which defined the succession to the throne of Great Britain, the Act of Settlement became part of Scots Law as well.

This is provided for in Article II of the Constitution, which states that the President " shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint ... Judges of the supreme Court.

The definition of the term disposal is made in Article 2 al 4 and just refers to annex IV, which gives a list of operations which are understood as disposal or recovery.

The Czech Republic also possesses Moldauhafen, a enclave in the middle of Hamburg docks, which was awarded to Czechoslovakia by Article 363 of the Treaty of Versailles to allow the landlocked country a place where goods transported downriver could be transferred to seagoing ships ; this territory reverts to Germany in 2028.

Reservations ( Article XXIII ) can be made by any Party with respect to any species, which considerably weakens the treaty ( see for current reservations ).

Article 18 provided a limited right to free movement and residence in Member States other than that of which the European Union citizen is a national.

In 1989 Gorbachev allowed other political associations ( de facto political parties ) to coexist with the Communist Party and in 1990 obtained the repeal of Article Six of the USSR constitution which gave the party supremacy over all institutions in society, thus ending its vanguard status.

For example, the Case or Controversy Clause of Article Three of the United States Constitution ( Section 2, Clause 1 ) states that " the judicial Power shall extend ... to Controversies to which the United States shall be a Party ".

The 72 signatories and 166 parties to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights recognise this rule, under Article 14 ( 7 ): No one shall be liable to be tried or punished again for an offence for which he has already been finally convicted or acquitted in accordance with the law and penal procedure of each country.

The Belgic Confession, used in Reformed churches, devotes a section ( Article 6 ) to " The difference between the canonical and apocryphal books " and asserts that " All which the Church may read and take instruction from, so far as they agree with the canonical books ; but they are far from having such power and efficacy as that we may from their testimony confirm any point of faith or of the Christian religion ; much less to detract from the authority of the other sacred books.

In October 2009, the Commission on Military Justice, known as the Cox Commission, repeated its 2001 recommendation that Article 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which bans sodomy, be repealed, noting that " most acts of consensual sodomy committed by consenting military personnel are not prosecuted, creating a perception that prosecution of this sexual behavior is arbitrary.

Signatory states to the Convention can only derogate from the rights contained in Article 2 for deaths which result from lawful acts of war.

Those limits are expressed in Article XXI of the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion, ratified in 1571 ( significantly, just as the Council of Trent was drawing to a close ), which held that " General Councils ... may err, and sometimes have erred ... wherefore things ordained by them as necessary to salvation have neither strength nor authority, unless it may be declared that they be taken out of holy Scripture.

Article 65 explicitly vests the executive power in the Cabinet, of which the Prime Minister is the leader.

The government of Spain continues with an irredentist territorial claim to Gibraltar, which was ceded in perpetuity to the British Crown in 1713 by Article X of the Treaty of Utrecht.

Hundreds of thousands of persons were arrested and sentenced to long prison terms on the grounds of one of the multiple passages of the notorious Article 58 of the Criminal Codes of the Union republics, which defined punishment for various forms of " counterrevolutionary activities.

In accordance with Article 31 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong has Special Administrative Region status, which provides constitutional guarantees for implementing the policy of " one country, two systems ".
