Mötley Crüe has been featured on a number of VH1 countdown shows, " Dr. Feelgood " was ranked the No. 7 Greatest Air Guitar Song, " Live Wire " was ranked the No. 17 Greatest Metal Song Of All Time, and " Home Sweet Home " was ranked the No. 12 Greatest Power Ballad Of All Time.

By 1974, the scene's top act, Dr. Feelgood, was paving the way for others such as The Stranglers and Cock Sparrer that would play a role in the punk explosion.
